Zelios Γη Botanical Garden - A paradise in Western Greece

Our Garden 1“Γη” (pronounced “yee”) means land, earth, soil, ground. The land has been in the Zelios family for only ten years. But in that time, the head of the family, Vassilios with dedicated work and love of the land transformed this wild, overgrown olive grove into what you find today –a beautiful botanical garden with many special features that invite you the visitor to explore the beauty of nature for oneself.

Zelios Γη Botanical Garden is located in the Western part of Greece mid way between the picturesque town of Nafpaktos and the historical town of Messolonghi on the Old National Road. It is also only a 15 minute ride from the Rio - Antirio Bridge "Charilaos Trikoupis".

The Garden covers an area of more than 25 acres (10 hectares) with the Evinos River to the north and the Ionian Sea to the south. It is surrounded by the mountainous region called "Aidoni", named after the bird occupies this area, the nightingale.

The acreage of the Zelios Γη Botanical Garden includes approximately 3,500 species of plants in 6 thematic gardens. There are aromatic, medicinal, flavoring herbs, common and rare species of Greek flora as well as horticultural crops which have their own unique place in the Garden.

There are signs an all the plants that give their identity and origin as well as QR codes providing further info for those visitors interested in detail.
